Anatoly Ivanov (Doctor of Geology) is a prominent expert in geological survey, deposit prospecting and evaluation, including metallic and nonmetallic minerals. He has over 45-year experience in geological survey, and mineral prospecting and exploration; made a significant contribution to the development of the Irkutsk region mineral base. I
nnovative prospecting techniques in geological studies developed by A.I. Ivanov were tested in the Irkutsk region and successfully used by geologists. A.I. Ivanov has been working in FSBI TsNIGRI since 2012. He lead projects of developing methodical basics for black shale large-tonnage gold deposit exploration and exploration works for gold in the Siberian and Far East regions. Over the past few years, he lead a number of successful budget projects in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Krasnoyarsk, Magadan and Irkutsk regions.
A.I. Ivanov has 3 monographs and over 80 published papers, he actively participates in the Russian and foreign geological scientific conferences.
New data on carbonaceous-terrigenous large-tonnage gold deposit forecasting, prospecting and evaluation technology
FSBI TsNIGRI tested gold deposit forecasting and prospecting technology in complex landscape conditions within Yenisei, Baikal-Patom and Verkhoyansk-Kolyma gold provinces prospective for new large-tonnage veinlet-disseminated gold deposit discovery (Ivanov, 2004, 2008, 2014).
Within these provinces, forested turf-covered areas buried by moss/humus or stone streams are widespread; permafrost is pervasive. In such conditions, ore-controlling fault zones characterized by intense hydrothermal and metasomatic processes, primarily ferromagnesian carbonatization are often completely inaccessible to be observed in geotraverses due to flat or relatively negative landforms within them caused by greater exposure to altered rock weathering. Thus, such structure identification and gold mineralization prospecting within them are much more complicated.
Based on the revealed deposit formation patterns, forecasting-prospecting model, complex and technology were developed.
