Alexander Zabolotsky graduated from the S. Ordzhonikidze Moscow Exploration Institute. He held management positions ARMZ Uranium Holding, UGMK-Holding, Ural Geotechnological Company. Before joining Highland Gold Mining he was Deputy CEO at Auriant Mining.
With a DSc in geology and mineralogy, Alexander is an acknowledged expert in heap and underground leaching of non-ferrous and noble metals and is a certified GKZ expert. He co-authored several innovative mining projects in recent years: underground leaching of gold and platinum-group metals from weathering crust and placers; nickel from silica ores; copper from flooded mines; and complex processing of man-made ores in stockpiles and tailings storage facilities.
