The organising committee of MINEX Russia 2014 Mining and Exploration Forum is pleased to announce the winners of the 3rd annual photo competition “Miners and Mines of Russia”.

This year the competition organisers have received an unprecedented number of applications from the Russian and International contestants. The works of the 40 finalists were presented for the open internet vote on the competition website:

The winners were awarded with the valuable prizes and honorary diplomas at the MINEX Russia Mining Awards Gala Dinner organised on 9 October 2014 at the Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel in Moscow.

About the competition

Miners and Mines amateur photography competition has been organised alongside the MINEX Russia Forum since 2012. The competition aims to provide an opportunity for amateur photographers to present a vivid image and diversity of miners and mines of Russia.

Goals and objectives of the competition

·       Objective presentation of the wealth of Russian mineral resources and beauty of people working in the Mining Industry

·       Creating objective image of Russian mining industry for present and future generations of miners

·       Providing an opportunity for mining companies and organisations to participate in a unique social project aimed at promoting mining profession and development of a unique platform where amateur photographers working in mining industry can express themselves
