The Forum provided a powerful impetus for the exchange of experiences and finding the best solutions to increase efficiency and investment attractiveness of Russian mining companies. The Forum agenda consisted of more than 100 reports and technical presentations representing Russian and international experience in improving the efficiency of the mining enterprises and the development of business in the face of declining commodity prices and reducing opportunities for financing of mining projects.

Senior representatives from the Russian and international mining companies presented at the forum – Alrosa, Archangelsk Diamonds, Auriant Mining, First Mining and Geological Company, GV Gold, Intergeo, Kamchatka Gold, Kinross Gold Corporation, Mechel Engineering, Nordgold, Petropavlovsk Plc, Polymetal Engineering, Polymetal Int, Polyus Gold, Rusgeology, Silver Bear Resources Inc., VERTEX Mining Company.

Over 50 Russian and International mining and service companies exhibited at the Trade and Investment Show organised alongside the Forum and attracted over 1,000 business and investment professionals.

The Forum played a host to the Round table discussion meeting of 40 Russian and international mining companies with management of the Federal Agency on Mineral Resources (Rosnedra) which addressed the key issues  impeding successful development of mining in Russia. The Forum also provided platform for 1-on-1 business and investors meetings and signage of commercial agreements. Traditionally, Micromine held its annual user training conference on the fringes of the Forum.

The memorandum produced on behalf of the Forum by a group of industry representatives reflected the views and recommendations to Russia’s Ministries and Legislative bodies on the most pressing measures to be taken to speed up the recovery of the Russian mining industry from the effect of the global economic slowdown and to boost mineral exploration, improve efficiency and increase investors’ confidence in Russia.
